About the project
At Swift Brickwork Contractors Ltd, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the brickwork, blockwork, and masonry industry in the UK. Our reputation for precision, innovation, and commitment to sustainability is well-earned. We excel in delivering complex projects across residential, commercial, and public sectors. Our unwavering dedication to client satisfaction truly sets us apart as industry leaders.
Quality will always be at the forefront of our values at SBCL. We currently employ four designated Quality Managers who operate on our sites daily, assisting our Project Managers in the completion of all relevant QA documentation This not only guarantees our ISO-9001 compliance, but our commitment to ensuring we operate proficiently wihin the parameters of the Building Safety Act. Our Quality Management team have also completed the PT120 Quality in Construction , which is both CQI & IRCA certified. This further training has enabled our Quality team to further assist our on site project teams in ensuring we achieve sufficient quality records during the lifecycle of our projects.
We have maintained an exemplary safety record with an AFR of 0 for the past 12 months, reflecting our strong commitment to our Zero Harm policy. Our approach includes dust-capturing cutting stations on all sites and a bespoke manual handling system for masonry. We’ve improved RPE compliance through better face-fit testing and digital verification. Site performance has been strong, with improved safety inspection compliance and zero RIDDORs for the past 12 months. Our proactive culture is shown by increased near-miss reporting and focused toolbox talks. Swift’s integrated management system, certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, ensures consistency across all projects.
At SBCL, we pride ourselves on our initiative to develop the skills of our existing workforce to ensure we operate as efficiently as possible. With over 120 current operatives taking part in courses throughout the year, this has allowed us to develop site teams who continue to work effectively on our projects. Our office staff have also benefited from our commitment to upskill our workforce, with employees receiving Mental Health First Aid training, Fire Marshall training as well as numerous CPD seminars for our commercial staff. Each year, we continue to develop the skill set of our workforce as necessary, in order to continue to complete projects to the highest standard.
We currently employ 16 Apprentices, with 6 of those recently achieving their EPA's. As a business, it is crucial to invest the necessary guidance and training towards the next generation of our workforce. With modern methods of construction ever changing, we communicate closely with their colleges to ensure we assist wherever possible with training in new products, quality assurance and methods of construction. This has been our inaugural year of not only investing in their site progression, but also their personal progression. Where possible, we have awarded our Apprentice of the Month vouchers towards driving lessons. This not only rewards their hard work on site, but assists them in becoming more independent in their personal life as well as working life.
