Channel Marketing Manager, wienerberger

Kate Painter

Kate Painter is a Channel Marketing Manager at wienerberger UK, with over 18 years’ experience working with construction professionals across the built environment. She specialises in customer insight and simplifying specification. Her recent work focuses on building safety and compliance, including leading the Cost of Compliance whitepaper campaign. Kate is passionate about translating complex industry challenges into clear, practical insights that support more confident specification decisions.

Senior Associate, Fletcher Priest Architects

Dijan Malla

Dijan Malla is an architect with over 15 years of experience delivering complex, high-value projects across central London. At Fletcher Priest Architects, he has led a range of residential and commercial schemes, including 63 St Mary Axe for AXA REIM, Oxbourne House for Hines, and the award-winning Marylebone Place for Beltane.

Dijan believes architecture should be joyful—both in its making and in its use and experience. Alongside practice, he maintains an active commitment to drawing. A scholarship recipient of the Royal Drawing School, he has exhibited at the Royal Academy and internationally; this work informs his approach from concept through to detail.

Presentation: The Cost of Compliance

Join Kate for a short, insight-led session exploring The Cost of Compliance, our latest research into how the Building Safety Act is impacting architects in practice. Drawing on insight from 80 UK architects, the session will highlight the growing pressures around specification, product information and accountability, and explore what this means for day-to-day design.

Presentation: Marylebone Place

Join Dijan Malla, Senior Associate at Fletcher Priest Architects, as he presents Marylebone Place, the Architects' Choice category winner at the 2025 Brick Awards.

Marylebone Place is the transformation of a 1930s neo-Georgian office building in central London. Completed in 2023 by Fletcher Priest Architects for Beltane Asset Management, the project retained around 85% of the original structure, reducing embodied carbon while creating a modern workplace that sits harmoniously within a residential conservation area.

Clay brick is central to the design, from restoring the original façades to a striking precast brick gradient and a bold glazed mews building. Thoughtful detailing, arched windows, layered patterns, and deep reveals, ensures a crafted, human-scale finish, demonstrating how clay brick can combine sustainability, context, and contemporary design excellence.
