As part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations, the brand-new Legacy Award will shine a spotlight on the single most iconic, community-impacting, or transformative clay brick building of the last five decades.
The Legacy Award celebrates the enduring physical and cultural impact of clay brick, demonstrating how these structures maintain relevance, whether by successfully evolving to new uses or by maintaining their original, classic aesthetic. This highlights the material's longevity, adaptability, and inherent value over the past five decades of the awards.
This is a public-driven award. Nominations will be open to any completed clay brick building within the UK built since the inception of the Brick Awards 50 years ago. The criteria focus on the structure's iconic status, community impact, or transformational influence over time.
Entries for the Legacy Award will close 1st September 2026
All eligible nominations will be showcased on the BDA website ahead of judging, with the winner selected by the judging panel and announced at the Brick Awards ceremony on 4th November 2026.
