About the project

Founded in 1993, McCrory Brickwork Ltd has established itself as one of the UK’s leading specialist brickwork subcontractors. With a consistent year-on-year growth, our current annual turnover stands at approximately £15 million, reflecting our reputation for delivering high-quality craftsmanship and exceptional service across a diverse range of projects. Our commitment to quality assurance is underpinned by our ISO OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 accreditations, as well as memberships with Constructionline Gold, CHAS, and Achilles. We utilise the Fieldview platform across all projects to ensure robust quality management. This digital system allows us to maintain transparent, real-time records aligned with project requirements and industry regulations. With the introduction of the Golden Thread principle, we have further enhanced our ability to track and record critical details, such as cavity fire barrier installations, through photographic evidence and comprehensive data capture, ensuring traceability and accountability at every stage. Health and safety is at the core of our operations. We believe that a safe site is a successful site, and our proactive, people-first approach ensures that every team member feels valued and protected. We employ a full-time, in-house Health & Safety Manager, enabling us to build close relationships with our workforce and respond swiftly to any concerns. In-house health surveillance is provided as standard, fostering a culture of openness and continuous improvement. Our accident frequency rate for the past year was extremely low, with only one RIDDOR-reportable incident and three recorded accidents. An excellent record considering our average weekly workforce of 135 operatives. Training and skills development are vital to our success. All operatives hold CSCS cards relevant to their roles, and we are actively working towards ensuring all site managers achieve NVQ Level 6 qualifications within the next 12 months. Our dedicated in-house Training Manager oversees all staff development, ensuring that training remains current and role-appropriate. Recent initiatives include upskilling 12 operatives in cavity barrier installation, resulting in NVQ Level 2 qualifications and Blue Skilled Worker cards. This investment in development not only enhances project delivery but also drives individual career progression. We are passionate advocates for apprenticeships, currently employing 13 apprentices across all stages of their training. We are committed to onboarding a minimum of four new apprentices annually. Each apprentice benefits from the guidance of a dedicated in-house mentor who liaises directly with training providers and ensures each learner receives consistent, high-quality support. Our exclusive partnership with Salford College has allowed us to standardise training outcomes and raise overall apprentice performance. We are proud to see many of our former apprentices now thriving as qualified bricklayers and even progressing into managerial roles within the company. At McCrory Brickwork, our enduring focus on quality, safety, and skills development defines our contribution to the industry. We remain committed to raising standards and building excellence, brick by brick.
