About the project
The development is for a terrace of 6 x 4 bed townhouses together with 2 x 2 bed flats.
The houses are designed across 3 floors with the two flats at the end of terrace situated above an area of under-croft parking. Flats and houses are dual aspect front to back with cross ventilation and with balconies to the rear looking across Ashmole Academy playing fields. A dedicated children’s play space is provided at the near side of the houses.
The orientation of the houses allows for sunlight to the front in the mornings and the rear principal living spaces, terraces, and gardens in the evening.
The houses are designed to create a sense of rhythm, texture, and delight within the street scene through the use of setbacks at the top floor, banded brickwork across the levels and contrasting materials that describe and define the various elevational components within the elevations.
The top floor is designed with setbacks to provide modulation to the front that reflects the traditional roof levels within the immediate area – and with walk-out terraces to master bedrooms at the top of the houses to the rear.
The brick façade is meticulously detailed to include projecting brickwork, glazed patterned brick, stone surrounds and perforated metal insets at ground and facing for alternating integrated garages.
