UNIVERSITY PICKS BRICK TO WIN TOP BUILDING AWARD

A leading University that chose brick for the bold addition of a high quality building to its campus, won the Best Education Building Category at the 2011 annual Brick Awards. Designed by John McAslan & Partners and constructed by PLF Brickwork Ltd and Advanced Construction Systems, the Charles Carter Building at Lancaster University occupies a prominent position within the university.

SCOTTISH COUNCIL HQ WINS BEST INTERNATIONAL PROJECT AT 2011 BRICK AWARDS

Designed by Reiach and Hall Architects in Edinburgh, the new office building for Dundee City Council is no ordinary building. The Council’s headquarters has an important civic role to play in the city and will be the primary location where the citizens of Dundee will have the opportunity to meet their council officers.

LYRIC THEATRE, BELFAST WINS BDA SUPREME AWARD IN 2011 BRICK AWARDS

Built on an epic scale, the Lyric is sited between the surrounding Belfast brick streetscape and the serpentine parkland of the River Lagan. The new building holds one corner of the continuous system of brick streets and has been built brilliantly to match the surrounding local ‘Belfast brick’.
