In previous years the Judges have rewarded the new-build at St Pancras. This year it is right to celebrate the skill and patience of the team concerned with the repair and refurbishment of the existing station. Despite salvaging much of the original brickwork it was still necessary to knit some 80,000 bricks into the existing fabric. This has been achieved in an exemplary fashion, much to the admiration of the Judges.
